This is to inform you that we have one probable case of COVID-19 at GBCS. Grey Bruce Public Health has contacted those who are considered high risk already. As directed by public health, one class will be remaining at home for the time being as a precaution. Otherwise, the school will remain open. While there is a probable case associated with our school, public health’s assessment, to date, indicates that transmission would not have taken place within the school environment. Currently, there is no outbreak; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in the school. One bus route is involved with this case. I recognize that there may be an elevated level of concern now that COVID-19 has potentially touched our school population. While I recognize that you may have some concerns and questions, I want you to rest assured that we continue to follow all public health protocols at GBCS to keep your child(ren) as safe as possible. Please note that those who have not heard from public health this evening are NOT considered a high-risk contact. For those of you whose children are currently isolating, thank you for your patience, and let us know if you need any assistance. I look forward to having everyone back with us soon.
